Job summary

HMSHost in Honolulu, HI seeks a General Manager II to oversee a complex QSR restaurant or cluster near the airport with annual sales typically over $4M. The GMII ensures the restaurant is clean, staffed, open for business, and operates to high operational and financial standards.

You will lead staffing, scheduling, training, and P&L responsibility, drive brand standards, and implement programs to grow revenue while maintaining guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years restaurant P&L management experience; 5–7 years overall restaurant experience typically necessary.
• Graduation from a Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute portion of time-based experience.
• Demonstrates team management, delegation and issue resolution skills.
• Knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, service quality, and operations standards.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, policy documents, and menus.

Responsibilities

• Open and close responsibilities including ensuring opening/closing checklists are completed.
• Deploys staff and resources to maximize profitability and holds P&L responsibility.
• Prepares schedules and ensures shifts are covered.
• Provides coaching and encouragement to achieve business goals.
• Interviewing candidates and making hiring decisions; promoting HMSHost as an employer of choice.
• Ensure onboarding/offboarding and compliance with badging requirements.
• Read and interpret financial/operational data to monitor progress towards goals.
