Job summary

The Commonwealth, a 59-suite historic property in Richmond operated by SMI Hotel Group, seeks an experienced General Manager. You will oversee all operations and sales, drive guest satisfaction, and lead a high-performing team in a landmark setting opposite the Virginia State Capitol.

Responsibilities include budgeting, revenue growth, cost control, and strategic marketing in collaboration with the Director of Sales, while representing the hotel in local communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hotel management or equivalent, with 3+ years GM/AGM experience.
• Exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills for team and guests.
• Strong organizational, time management and technology skills.
• Proven track record of guest service success.
• Proven success in revenue and profitability growth.
• Positive references from superiors and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations and sales functions.
• Create a positive work environment with valued team members.
• Inspire teams to deliver top guest service and resolve issues promptly.
• Maximize revenues by capitalizing on market demand and strategic plans.
• Develop and monitor annual business and marketing plans with the DSO.
