Descrição da oferta de emprego

Position Title: General Manager
Name of Ranch/Business: Doss Valley Enterprises LLC
Location: Doss, Texas
Position Description

We are a highly diversified, multi-tiered enterprise based in the scenic Texas Hill Country town of Doss, TX. Our operations span intensive livestock breeding, local retail business, real estate management, and high-end agri-tourism. We are seeking one of the most skilled and capable Ranch Managers in the nation to take the helm of our expansive estate and commercial ventures. This is a rare opportunity for a visionary leader with an exceptionally broad skill set, ranging from agriculture and wildlife management to retail operations and real estate oversight.

The General Manager will serve as the executive overseer for all day-to-day and long-term operations across four primary divisions: Livestock & Ranch Management, Services, Real Estate, and Agri-Tourism. The ideal candidate is a true polymath—equally comfortable managing retail employees, directing heavy construction projects, overseeing livestock genetics, and guiding high-end hunting expeditions. You will be responsible for employee management across diverse sectors, business growth, and the strategic development of our portfolio.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in a senior management role overseeing complex, multi-faceted ranching, agricultural, or resort operations.
  • Education: A College Degree (Bachelor’s or higher) is strictly required. Degrees in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Wildlife Management, Business Administration, or related fields are preferred.
  • Bonus Qualification: A background in farming, horticulture, or agronomy is highly desired and considered a strong plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to hire, train, and manage a diverse workforce, from ranch hands to retail staff and contract workers.
  • Hunting/Outdoors: Deep, demonstrable expertise in big game, small game, bird/fowl hunting, and fishing.
  • Construction/Maintenance: Strong working knowledge of building construction, property management, and heavy equipment operation.

Please submit your resume, a cover letter detailing your specific experience across all four operational sectors (Livestock, Services, Real Estate, Agri-tourism), and professional references to accounting@doss-valley.com. On-Site Housing and Relocation Package available.

Responsibilities
  • Livestock Breeding & Ranch Operations
  • Direct all aspects of a comprehensive livestock breeding and feeding operation, ensuring optimal herd health, nutrition, and genetic quality.
  • Implement sustainable grazing programs, pasture rotation, and land stewardship practices.
  • Manage supply chains for feed, veterinary supplies, and equipment.
  • Services (General Store Management)
  • Oversee the daily operations of the town’s General Store, serving as a hub for the local community and visitors.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of retail employees, ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Manage diverse inventory, vendor relationships, pricing strategies, and store profitability.
  • Property, Construction & Maintenance
  • Manage a portfolio of owned and leased properties, ensuring all assets are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Project-manage new construction and renovations on the ranch and commercial buildings, including bidding, contractor management, and site inspections.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all heavy machinery, vehicles, infrastructure (fencing, water systems, roads), and facilities.
  • Agri-Tourism & Outfitting Operations
  • Lead the estate’s hunting and agri-tourism business, ensuring world-class experiences for guests and clients.
  • Leverage extensive personal knowledge to manage guided hunts for big game, small game, upland birds, waterfowl, and fishing expeditions.
  • Implement long-term wildlife management and habitat conservation strategies to ensure healthy game populations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal wildlife regulations and licensing requirements.
