Job summary

Newk’s Eatery is seeking a results-driven General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, develop teams, and deliver exceptional financial and guest experience results. You will recruit and coach staff, drive profitability, and uphold food quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of GM experience in fast-paced dining, strong communication, and the ability to manage labor, inventory, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant general management or GM experience.
  • Proven leadership in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and manage profitability.
  • Experience with POS and inventory systems; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations and drive financial and operational results.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop restaurant managers and staff.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture with accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching as needed.

What You’ll Do

As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall success of the restaurant by leading daily operations, developing your team, and delivering exceptional financial and operational results.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and retain top talent.
  • Build, coach, and develop managers and team members through ongoing training and mentorship.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture built on teamwork, respect, and accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and administer fair and consistent corrective action when needed.
  • Delegate responsibilities while maintaining clear communication and accountability.

Guest Experience

  • Deliver an outstanding guest experience every day.
  • Lead your team to provide fast, friendly, and accurate service.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Continuously improve guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Operations

  • Ensure excellence in food quality, cleanliness, food safety, maintenance, and restaurant appearance.
  • Maintain compliance with all health and sanitation standards.
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, scheduling, payroll accuracy, and labor management.
  • Execute company initiatives, menu rollouts, and operational programs successfully.

Financial Performance

  • Drive sales growth and profitability.
  • Analyze profit and loss statements to identify opportunities.
  • Control labor, food costs, waste, and operating expenses.
  • Forecast business trends and plan staffing and inventory accordingly.
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum of 2 years of restaurant management or General Manager experience
  • Proven leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and manage profitability
  • Experience with POS and inventory systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures and a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Availability to work approximately 40+ hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
