Lead the launch and growth of Porter Pipe & Supply’s new Columbus Distribution Center.

We’re hiring our first General Manager in the Columbus region to help launch one of Porter Pipe's largest distribution centers. From the start, you'll play a key role in hiring your team, shaping the operation, and establishing a presence in the Ohio Market.

What We’re Looking For

• A leader who coaches, develops, and holds teams accountable while earning their trust and respect.
• Strong business judgment and experience managing budgets, operational metrics, and financial performance.
• A solid understanding of distribution operations, including warehousing, inventory, fulfillment, dispatch, and customer service.

• Wholesale or industrial distribution experience; PVF industry knowledge is a plus.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the launch and ongoing performance of our Columbus Region Distribution Center.
• Hire, develop, and unite a team around Porter Pipe’s culture and service standards.
• Oversee warehouse operations, dispatch, counter sales, and other branch functions.
• Drive results in safety, customer service, productivity, inventory accuracy, labor efficiency, and profitability.
• Manage the branch budget and P&L, using operational and financial data to guide decisions.
• Partner with inside and outside sales teams to grow customer relationships and establish Porter Pipe in the Columbus market.
• Build relationships with customers, vendors, and local business partners, including through events and activities outside standard business hours.
• Plan for future staffing, capacity, and growth as the operation expands.
• Communicate clear goals and expectations while creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect.
• Uphold Porter Pipe’s Core Values and ensure compliance with safety policies and applicable requirements.

What You’ll Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• At least seven years of progressive experience in distribution, warehouse operations, supply chain, or a related operational environment.
• At least three years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience with budgets, labor planning, cost controls, and performance metrics. P&L management experience is preferred.
• A track record of developing leaders, improving team performance, and building a strong workplace culture.
• Experience using KPIs to improve safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, customer service, and delivery performance.
• Experience with ERP, WMS, or other distribution management systems preferred.

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity to perform job responsibilities.
• Includes regular exposure to warehouse and outdoor environments, including varying temperatures, weather, noise, and fumes.
