Job summary

The Last Word in Ann Arbor is seeking a General Manager to lead our 70-seat space with a positive attitude and a commitment to hospitality, quality food and drinks.

You will oversee all restaurant operations hands-on, hire and coach the team, manage labor and inventory, and ensure health and safety standards while driving guest satisfaction and business results.

Responsibilities

• The GM oversees all aspects of the restaurant's operations, including food and beverage service, front of house operations, and in collaboration with the Chef, back of house operations.
• Specific responsibilities include: Hiring, training, leading and coaching; Managing the team on shifts; Setting the standard of guest hospitality; Using scheduling software to write schedules to labor targets; Purchasing and Inventory control; Assessing and addressing facility/maintenance issues; Driving quality standards in food and drink; Ensuring cleanliness of FOH and BOH; Programming point-of-sale and operation; Management of reservation system; Building event and private party business through prompt follow-up; Ensuring that all operations meet or exceed health and safety standards.

We are looking for a General Manager to lead our team with a positive attitude while providing genuine hospitality and quality food and drink to our guests.
