Cyclic General Maintenance Worker - Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune

Cyclic General Maintenance Workers on the Camp Lejeune team come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro, and Morehead City. Primary responsibilities include performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on buildings, equipment, and machinery across various trades. The ideal EMI Cyclic General Maintenance Worker has practical skills and knowledge in trades such as grounds work, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work.

Salary: $23.47/hr plus $9.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401(k)!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties including replacing hardware, working on signage, electrical work, patching holes, repairing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machinery and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, piping, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Record maintenance or repair work and its costs.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs, suppliers, or storerooms.
  • Perform general building or property cleaning.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

  • Use of hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and testing devices.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, building codes, safety practices, and maintenance methods.
  • Understanding of building structural elements and repairs.
  • Adaptability, prioritization, and workplace safety practices.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of related experience or vocational training in building/utilities trades.
  • Valid driver’s license and compliance with REAL ID Act.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Dependable attendance and willingness to work nights and weekends.
  • U.S. citizenship for access to military installations.

Preferred Qualifications: Formal apprenticeship.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in various physical positions, and in different environments, including outdoors and confined spaces.
