Cyclic General Maintenance Worker - Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune

Position: Cyclic General Maintenance Worker based at Camp Lejeune, serving areas in eastern NC such as Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro, and Morehead City. Responsibilities include performing general, preventative, and repair maintenance on buildings, equipment, and machinery across various trades. Ideal candidates possess practical skills in grounds work, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work.

Salary

$23.47/hr plus $9.75 fringe benefits allocated towards insurance and 401(k).

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform duties such as replacing hardware, electrical work, patching walls, repairing fixtures, and plumbing repairs.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and building integrity.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repair work, order parts and supplies, and perform general building cleaning.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency with tools including hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and testing devices.
  • Ability to adjust devices and control instruments.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, building codes, safety standards, and structural elements.
  • Flexible, able to prioritize tasks, and committed to workplace safety, including PPE use.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of related experience or vocational training in building/utilities trades.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a military installation access badge.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Dependable attendance, willingness to work nights and weekends, and U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal apprenticeship.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Manual dexterity, physical mobility, and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
