Position Overview:

Cyclic General Maintenance Workers at Camp Lejeune come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro, and Morehead City. Their primary responsibilities include performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on buildings, equipment, and machinery across various trades. The ideal candidate has practical skills and knowledge in trades such as grounds work, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work.

Salary and Benefits:

$23.47/hr plus $9.75 fringe benefits allocated towards insurance and 401(k)!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform duties such as replacing hardware, working on signage, electrical repairs, patching holes, repairing sinks and toilets, and replacing equipment parts.
2. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and building integrity.
3. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
4. Record maintenance and repair work, and order necessary parts and supplies.
5. Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency with hand and power tools, and electrical testing devices.
• Ability to adjust devices and control instruments.
• Knowledge of carpentry, building codes, safety practices, and structural elements.
• Adaptability, time management, and safety consciousness.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of related experience or vocational training.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a REAL ID.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
• Dependable attendance, willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
• U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal apprenticeship.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs, use of hands, climbing ladders, working in various weather conditions.
• Prolonged periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, and standing.
