Position: General Maintenance Worker

Summary:

To help maintain and enhance the value of the property through the repair and maintenance of center structures, furnishings, systems, and equipment, aiming to contribute to the center's profitability.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide exceptional service in a safe and clean environment to create an amazing experience for all.
2. Adhere to Destiny USA Appearance & Grooming Standards.
3. Perform interior maintenance: repairs of fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, and lighting replacements.
4. Perform exterior maintenance: repairs of fixtures, roofs, parking lots, and lighting replacements.
5. Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal condition.
6. Make minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
7. Check HVAC systems, fire sprinkler systems, and fire extinguishers for preventative maintenance.
8. Report potential issues with equipment or systems to supervisors.
9. Communicate daily with facility management regarding building issues.
10. Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including during weekends or off-hours.
11. Coordinate with contractors for maintenance and repairs.
12. Maintain a positive image and attitude, including smiling.
13. Collaborate with other departments on various projects.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. BOCES training or equivalent experience in general maintenance, including work with 277v and/or 480v systems and HVAC maintenance.
3. Customer-focused attitude.
4. Professional appearance and conduct.

Additional Information:

1. Basic knowledge of floor plans and architectural plans.
2. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, electrical equipment, lifts, and vehicles.
3. Willingness to learn digital work order systems and proficiency in email and basic computer use.
4. Work environment involves exposure to mechanical parts, heights, weather conditions, and electrical hazards.
5. Noise level similar to a busy shopping mall.
6. Compliance with industry and company standards is required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

1. Lift at least 50 lbs.
2. Prolonged standing, walking, climbing, bending, and repetitive motions.
3. Punctual adherence to dress code, neat and clean appearance.
4. Exposure to temperature extremes and weather conditions.

Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour.
