Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide base operations support through the performance of general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings.

Responsibilities:

• The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
• Work involves a variety of the following duties:
  1. Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
  2. Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment.
  3. Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  4. Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
  5. Hanging doors
  6. Installing door locks
  7. Replacing broken window panes
  8. Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  9. Identifying Real Property Inventory
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Consistently produces quality products and service.
• Completes all training within required timeline.
• Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US or a US territory.
• Must have a one (1) to two (2) years related experience.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be able to work independently and interact well with others in a team setting.
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
• Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
• Must be able to perform on-call duties, as required, when scheduled and report to work within applied timeframe.
• Must be able to work alternate shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer, to include weekends and holidays.
• Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
• Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
• Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.

• Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
