Job summary

Hyatt Regency New Orleans is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to maintain, repair and oversee guest rooms, public spaces, and meeting rooms. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to service calls and troubleshoot building systems across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.

Ideal candidates have a broad maintenance background, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to guest service.

Qualifications

• Experience with general building systems: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry.
• Strong adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Two years of hotel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and meeting rooms.

Join us for this incredible opportunity to be part of our Engineering team as a General Maintenance Engineer at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Located in the heart of downtown New Orleans and steps from Caesars Superdome, our hotel features more than 1,200 guest rooms and over 200,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it one of the premier convention hotels in the region.

As a General Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, meeting rooms throughout the hotel. This hands-on position supports the day-to-day operation of the property by performing preventative maintenance, responding to guest service calls, troubleshooting building-related issues, and completing repairs across a variety of trades.

The ideal candidate will possess a broad maintenance background with experience in general building systems, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service are essential to success in this role.
