Job summary

TemperPack Lansing is seeking a General Laborer for 1st shift (6:30am–2:30pm). You will support production, follow safety rules, and help maintain a clean, organized work area. This role offers hands-on work in a manufacturing environment with opportunities to contribute to efficiency and quality.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and prior production experience is preferred. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work 10–12 hours per day in a physically demanding

Responsibilities

• Run production while following safety rules and procedures.
• Keep up with production flow and minimize downtime.
• Willingness to use band saws, rip saws, baler, and plussing machine.
• Build boxes with tape gun and staple gun.
• Assist with inventory at month end.
• Maintain area safety and housekeeping.
• Commit to continuous process improvement and to produce safe, quality products meeting specifications.
• Perform basic arithmetic for unit conversions and mix-ups.
• Interpret written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for running production and following safety rules / procedures.
• Able to keep up with the flow of production and minimize downtime.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is also preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Be on your feet for 10-12 hours a day
• Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
• Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
