Job summary

TemperPack is seeking a General Laborer for the Night Shift (10:30 pm–6:30 am) at our Lansing, MI facility. This full-time position requires a high school diploma or GED and involves performing production tasks, following safety rules, and assisting with packaging and inventory.

Prior production experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred. You will lift up to 50 pounds, stand 10–12 hours, and wear PPE as part of daily duties in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run production and follow safety rules and procedures.
• Keep up with production flow and minimize downtime.
• Operate band saws, rip saws, baler, and plussing machine as needed.
• Build boxes with tape gun and staple gun.
• Assist with end-of-month inventory.
• Maintain area safety and housekeeping.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement and produce safe, quality products meeting specifications.
• Perform basic arithmetic for unit measurements and follow written/oral instructions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for running production and following safety rules / procedures.

QualificationsEducation and Experience:

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted


• Be on your feet for 10-12 hours a day


• Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks


• Ability to work in hot and cold environments


• Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts


• Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
