Job summary

TemperPack is seeking a General Laborer for its Lansing, MI facility. You will support production on multiple shifts, follow safety procedures, and assist with boxing, packaging, and inventory tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varying temperatures. Prior production experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run production line and follow safety rules and procedures.
• Keep up with production flow and minimize downtime.
• Operate band saws, rip saws, baler, and plussing machine as needed.
• Build boxes using tape gun and staple gun.
• Assist with inventory at end of month and maintain area safety and housekeeping.

Supervisor’s Title: Team Lead

Location: 2325 Jarco Dr, Holt, MI, 48842.

Shifts

• 1st Monday-Friday 6:30 am- 2:30 pm
• 2nd Monday-Friday 2:30 pm-10:30 pm
• 3rd Monday-Friday 10:30 pm- 6:30 am

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for running production and following safety rules / procedures.
• Able to keep up with the flow of production and minimize downtime.
• Willingness to use band saws, rip saws, baler, and plussing machine.
• Responsible for building boxes with use of tape gun and staple gun
• Willingness to help with inventory at the end of the month.
• Responsible for area safety and housekeeping
• Committed to continuous process improvement and to produce safe and quality products that meet specifications and our responsibility to our customers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Other duties as necessitated by the business.

Physical Requirements

• Be on your feet for 10-12 hours.
• Lift up to 50 lbs in a continuous manner
• Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
• Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts.
• Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts.
