LEHR, located in Lakewood, WA, is seeking a General Fleet Mechanic to service emergency and specialty vehicles. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across police, fire, EMS fleets, including 12V electrical work and component replacements.

The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with strong safety standards in a fleet service setting. EVT readiness and ASE pref are valued as part of ongoing training.

Qualificações

• Must read manufacturers drawings and manuals.
• Basic computer and internet literacy.
• Knowledgeable and experienced operating hand, power, and shop tools.
• Keep shop equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.).
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Use computer diagnostic equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Must respect and work positively with first responders and law enforcement.
• Must be detail oriented with strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in/around vehicles.

Description

Our Lakewood facility is a Ford QVM-certified vehicle upfitting and maintenance center specializing in police, fire, EMS, and other emergency response fleets. We are seeking an experienced General Fleet Mechanic with strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills. This position performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of emergency and specialty vehicles, police vehicles, fire apparatus, ambulances, and command units. Responsibilities include brake repair, suspension work, steering components, tire service, drivability concerns, and troubleshooting complex vehicle systems using OBD-I, OBD-II, and CAN bus diagnostic tools. Experience with 12V electrical systems is highly preferred, as many vehicles are equipped with aftermarket emergency lighting, sirens, communications equipment, cameras, and other specialized accessories. Additional duties may include repairing or replacing emergency lighting components, speakers, push bumpers, and related equipment, as well as removing and reinstalling vehicle-mounted accessories following repairs or vehicle replacement projects. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety in a fleet service environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $23-$28 per hour based on experience (must have 12V experience to be considered for higher end of pay)
