Job summary

Vaughn Industries in Carey, Ohio, is seeking a General Accountant to support payroll, job costing, and accounts payable, helping keep our accounting operations accurate and efficient.

This role offers exposure to month-end and year-end closes, tax remittances, internal controls, and process improvements across the accounting department, reporting to the Controller.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field or 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Support key accounting functions including payroll, job costing, and accounts payable
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Handle withholding tax remittances and other tax-related responsibilities
• Support internal audit activities and help maintain strong internal controls
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with the Accounting Department and provide support wherever needed
• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned by Controller

This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple areas of accounting, collaborate with the Accounting Department, and contribute to process improvements that make a real impact.
