Databricks is seeking a senior GenAI-focused engineer for the AI Forward Deployed Engineering team. This role supports customer-facing GenAI projects, delivers production-grade AI applications, and collaborates with product and engineering to drive AI strategy in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

The role may be remote within the US and requires willingness to travel occasionally to client sites. A graduate degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience is preferred,

Qualifications

• Experience building GenAI applications with tools such as HuggingFace, LangChain and DSPy.
• Experience deploying production‑grade GenAI applications.
• Extensive hands-on data science experience with pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch.
• Experience building production‑grade ML deployments on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Preferred: Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark experience.
• Willing to travel 4–8 weeks to see customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge GenAI solutions using the latest Databricks AI research.
• Own production rollouts of GenAI applications for customers and internal users.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor across domains.
• Present at conferences such as Data + AI Summit and share insights internally.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to influence priorities and roadmaps.
