Job description

My client is a well-established technical sales and engineering company located in Connecticut. They require a Field Service Engineer to support the existing customer base of on‑site gearboxes. The position offers about 4‑6 weeks of on‑the‑job training in the field (U.S.) and at the manufacturing plant in Western Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Service and support high‑speed gearboxes used on gas and steam motor‑driven systems.
  • Provide on‑site troubleshooting and maintenance for rotating equipment such as gears, compressors, pumps, generators, gas, steam, or wind turbines.
  • Travel up to 70% of the time to customer sites throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America after initial training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with rotating equipment or gearing.
  • Previous field‑service experience with rotating equipment (gears, compressors, pumps, generators, gas, steam, or wind turbines).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows/Mac computer systems.
  • Valid U.S. Passport (required).
