Job summary

Wilmington Trust, a part of M&T Bank, seeks an experienced deal manager in a hybrid role (4 days in office) to negotiate and close transactions for Global Capital Markets clients. You will interact with clients, assist sales on business development, and coordinate deal structures across asset types.

The job requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent 7+ years) and 3+ years of related experience, with MBA/JD preferred. Delaware location; pay range reported: USD 106,700–177,900 annually.

• Address escalated client issues and prioritize resolution with leadership guidance.

Job description

Location: Hybrid 4 days in office, open to Baltimore, Chicago, Wilmington, DE and Minneapolis.

Overview

Negotiates transaction deal documents and facilitates deal closings in a timely manner for smaller and mid-tier Global Capital Markets (GCM) clients.

Primary Responsibilities

• Negotiate and close transactions in which Wilmington Trust serves in a Trustee capacity as well as other complementary roles and products.
• Serve as client-facing centralized deal manager for transactions for internal operational and support groups.
• Meet with clients and attend some conferences as deemed appropriate.
• Assist Sales with business development initiatives and coordinate deal structures depending on asset type.
• Serve as internal liaison for all support groups surrounding deal closings.
• Address escalated client issues and ensure they are prioritized appropriately and resolved. May escalated client issues to Transaction Leaders based on client size and possible risk.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Required

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $106,700.00 - $177,900.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
