Job summary

Wilmington Trust seeks an experienced professional to negotiate and close deal documents, acting as a trustee and supporting deal closings for Global Capital Markets clients. You will coordinate with internal teams, meet clients, and participate in conferences to advance transactions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience (or 7+ total years education/experience). MBA/JD preferred, with a focus on risk, governance, and regulatory standards.

• GCM deal closing experience and corporate trust knowledge are essential.

• Serve as client-facing deal manager for transactions for internal support groups.
• Meet with clients and attend conferences as appropriate.

• Address escalated client issues and escalate as needed based on size/risk.

Job description

Location: Hybrid 4 days in office, open to Baltimore, Chicago, Wilmington, DE and Minneapolis.

Overview

Negotiates transaction deal documents and facilitates deal closings in a timely manner for smaller and mid-tier Global Capital Markets (GCM) clients.

Primary Responsibilities

• Negotiate and close transactions in which Wilmington Trust serves in a Trustee capacity as well as other complementary roles and products.
• Serve as client-facing centralized deal manager for transactions for internal operational and support groups.
• Meet with clients and attend some conferences as deemed appropriate.
• Assist Sales with business development initiatives and coordinate deal structures depending on asset type.
• Serve as internal liaison for all support groups surrounding deal closings.
• Address escalated client issues and ensure they are prioritized appropriately and resolved. May elevate client issues to Transaction Leaders based on client size and possible risk.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Required
