Job summary

Glenview Community Ice Center is currently hiring a part-time Front Desk Staff member with availability for days, nights, weekends and special events. The Front Desk Staff provides excellent front-line customer service to visitors, greets patrons, answers questions about programs and facilities, and processes registrations and payments.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of relevant experience, strong communication and typing skills (35 wpm), and

• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher.
• Ability to travel to facilities and work varied schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line customer service to visitors and patrons.
• Greet visitors and answer questions about organization, facilities and programs.
• Register customers for programs, ice rentals, events and memberships; accept payments.
• Balance daily cash drawer and prepare bank deposits.
• Open and close front desk and offices.
• Document incidents and accidents; sort and distribute mail.
• Assist with other administrative duties and special projects/events as needed.

The Front Desk Staff is responsible for performing the following essential functions, but not limited to:Provide excellent front-line customer service to visitors and patronsGreet visitors and answer questions about organization, facilities and programsAnswer phone calls and handle appropriatelyOpen and close front desk and officesRegister customers for programs, ice rentals, events and memberships; accept paymentsBalance daily cash drawer and prepare bank depositsMaintain clean front desk and up-to-date bulletin boards and information kiosksDocument incidents and accidentsSort and distribute internal and external mailAssist with other administrative duties and special projects/events as neededQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent desired. Some college is strongly preferred, but will consider related experience or training in lieu of formal education.At least two (2) years of relevant experience required.Excellent interpersonal and phone skills with a wide range of patrons is required.Strong language skills, ability to type at least 35 wpm and proofread/edit documents.Ability to multitask and handle various assignments.Knowledge of computers and software (Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher).Ability to travel to facilities using personal automobile and work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends.SCHEDULING & PAYThis is a year-round part-time position; no seasonal applicants, please.Starting pay is $17.00/hour.Position may work approximately 6-15 hours/week.
