Job summary

DHL Express, Inc. is seeking a Customs Entry Agent to ensure regulatory compliance for shipments, process entries, determine tariffs, and review invoices and related documents for release of freight.

Ideal candidates have high school level education, 1 year of related experience, and strong MS Office skills with good communication. Position requires access to securedAirport areas and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data entry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning and directing flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations.
• Classifies import/export shipments to ensure compliance with government rules.
• Processes requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and government entries.
• Communicates shipment status with origin/destination locations.
• May assist with issuing permits and Certificates of Eligibility.
• Examine documents to determine correct HTS code for commodities.
• Ensure compliance with US Customs Regulations and trade agreements.
• Perform duties with accuracy, organization and good time management.
• Handle shipments through online portals to obtain proper clearance.
