Job summary

Carvana is hiring for a Safe & Secure position at our facility in Jurupa Valley, CA. This full-time hourly role keeps the gate secure, monitors CCTV and RFID systems, and ensures safety protocols are followed across all weather conditions.

You will be the face of Carvana at the gate for associates, vendors, and visitors, performing safety audits and coordinating with the Inspection Center and Logistics teams. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• A track record of solid decision-making in a complex, fast-moving environment.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and connect with people quickly.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to handle conflict in a positive, productive way.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a service-first mindset in every interaction.
• Be the face of Carvana at the gate for associates, vendors, and visitors.
• Monitor live cameras, review footage, and investigate intrusion alerts so nothing on site catches us off guard.
• De-escalate, partner with others, and maintain composure.
• Run gate operations using the Safe & Secure App (SAS App) and RFID tech.
• Manage and document vehicle movement through the Inspection Center entrance and exit gates.
• Get trained in first aid, CPR, and AED and use when needed.
• Know emergency protocols cold to act decisively when seconds count.
• Keep the site operational in all weather, snow removal, heat-safety protocols.
• Drive safety-focused culture by spotting hazards and conducting audits.
• Scan thousands of vehicles daily and report on operational questions.
• Walk to reach restricted areas.
• Deliver clean, detailed reports to leadership when operational questions arise.
