Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Plano, TX is seeking a Gastroenterology Technician 2 to support GI procedures under clinical oversight. You will assist during non-sedation procedures, monitor patient status, and help ensure clean, sterile equipment and a safe environment.

You will train fellow technicians, coordinate with nurses and physicians, document data, order supplies, and contribute to quality reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in GI or medical environment.
• BLS or CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in procedures not requiring sedation, ensure patient is informed and comfortable.
• Collaborate with nurses and doctors during procedures, monitor vital signs and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment; train others on quality control.
• Support recovery area, monitor patient data, and prepare slides for lab analysis.
• Document data during admission and discharge; assist with supplies and vendor communications.
