Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a skilled Test Technician to perform dynamic performance testing of gas turbine engines, troubleshoot test cells and associated equipment, and document test events.

You will support calibration and maintenance activities, review performance data, and help ensure safety and lean initiatives across the facility. Strong English skills and physical capability are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical and electrical skills with shop equipment and various inspection/test tools.
• Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specs.
• 2+ years in a gas turbine environment focusing on electrical systems, instrumentation and controls.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Proficient in reading/writing English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use basic computer skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic testing and troubleshooting of gas turbines during engine tests and ensure all systems function correctly.
• Set up and operate data acquisition systems and interpret test data against acceptance criteria.
• Adjust engine controls and mappings for emissions and test objectives.
• Operate and maintain test cell auxiliary systems (load banks, gas compressors, emission monitoring).
• Maintain test logs and documentation.
• Assist with installation and removal of gas turbines and test equipment.
• Collaborate to troubleshoot test cell systems, electrical controls and instrumentation.
• Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Promote safety and lean initiatives within the facility.
• Provide guidance to junior Test Technicians and work independently within the team.
• Contribute to overall success of the test cell team.
