Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a hands-on Test Facility Mechanical Engineering Technician to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot rotor balancing and test equipment for high-spec turbomachinery in energy and industrial applications. You will perform mechanical work on heavy equipment, inspect and repair rotating components, and support rebuilds across energy and industrial sectors at the Richmond, VA site.

This onsite role requires shift flexibility, lifting up to 50 lbs, and strict adherence to PPE,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of mechanical, maintenance, or automotive experience.
• On-site at the GE Repair Center in Richmond, VA.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
• Inspect and test products to ensure quality and identify defects.
• Set up, operate, and perform maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.
• Complete production, quality, and maintenance records per drawings and specs.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support improvements.
• Move, align, assemble, disassemble, and reassemble rotating equipment.
