Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Landfill Gas Technician to join our environmental services team in Brea, CA. You will monitor and maintain gas extraction systems on projects related to landfill gas collection, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and preventing harmful releases.

The role focuses on leak detection, pipe maintenance, safety, pressure testing, gas analysis, and familiarity with SCADA and gas measurement equipment. Onsite, outdoors most of the time, with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Identify and locate gas leaks in pipelines and systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly gas furnaces, boilers & water heaters.
• Experience in pipeline maintenance and gas valve repair.
• Understanding of safety compliance and ability to conduct pressure testing.
• Skills in gas analysis and familiarity with SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify and locate gas leaks in pipelines and systems to ensure safety and system integrity.
• Maintain and repair gas pipelines to prevent leaks and ensure efficient operation.
• Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct pressure tests on gas systems to check for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
• Use gas analyzers to measure and monitor gas concentrations.
• Repair and maintain gas valves to ensure they operate correctly.
• Familiarize with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for monitoring and controlling gas systems.
