Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Landfill Field Technician to lead field teams in the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of landfill gas collection and control systems. The role involves extensive travel and field work across multiple sites.

You will provide direction to junior technicians, schedule field activities, and communicate with clients while collecting and interpreting field data. A strong emphasis on safety, PPE compliance, and outdoor work is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a related field.
• Mechanical skills and attention to detail.
• Team leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds on occasion.
• Ability to work outdoors approximately 90% of each workday.
• Ability to walk over steep and rough terrain for considerable distances daily.
• Must wear PPE per Health and Safety standards.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; able to drive a pickup truck.
• Ability to work independently in varying weather with SOP adherence.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain landfill gas systems.
• Provide direction to junior field technicians.
• Schedule and coordinate field activities.
• Communicate with field teams and clients.
• Collect data from wellfield locations and monitoring sites.
• Perform valve/vacuum adjustments and data collection.
• Interpret field data.
• Lead small construction projects including pipe/valve work.
• Work with PVC/HDPE piping and related equipment.
• Maintain and operate landfill flares and pumps.
• Provide on-call response for system malfunctions.
