Job summary

Spire is seeking a System Controller to operate and monitor the natural gas distribution systems from the St. Louis, MO location. The role involves 24/7 monitoring and control to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; technical training with an Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in natural gas or petroleum industry preferred.
• Experience with SCADA and ability to troubleshoot computer problems preferred.
• Knowledge of API RP 1165, API RP 1168 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the natural gas system through SCADA to ensure safety and reliability.
• Adjust supplies using remote-control regulators and valves to maintain pressures and flow.
• Monitor, analyze and respond to SCADA alarms and unusual conditions; coordinate emergency responses.
• Provide training and performance monitoring for new system controllers; complete annual trainings.
