Job summary

Eversource is seeking a qualified engineer to develop standard design gas projects involving 12" diameter or less at pressures up to 99 psig. The role includes estimating costs, preparing work orders, and coordinating with field teams across MA/CT/NH.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering and 3+ years of related experience. Proficiency in Excel, Primavera P6, PowerBI, GIS, and Maximo is preferred, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, engineering or related discipline OR equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of directly related experience.
• ASPE, ICEAA, or AACE estimator certification preferred; valid motor vehicle operator license required.
• Knowledge of gas distribution operations or underground utility construction, including engineering, construction and maintenance practices, and applicable codes.
• Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Primavera P6, PowerBI, GIS, and a work management system.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to travel between MA/CT/NH and to site visits.

Responsibilities

• Identify requirements and design specifications for new and existing gas facilities.
• Estimate costs of materials, labor, contractor services and equipment for underground utility construction.
• Prepare project documents and work orders in the Maximo work management system.
• Design gas service replacements and initiate project financial approvals.
• Review final estimate packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare work order summary sheets for internal construction and meter services.
