Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Director to lead E&C's engagement across all gas project development activities—from technology due diligence and FEED studies to construction readiness within NextEra's federal hub portfolio.

This high-visibility, cross-functional role requires disciplined budget, scope and schedule management, risk identification, and team leadership across Generation Development, Integrated Supply Chain, and E&C.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is required.
• 8+ years of experience in energy project development or large capital construction are expected.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing budget/schedule is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead E&C participation in gas technology and commercial due diligence, and coordinate with Generation Development leadership.
• Own development and improvement of E&C gas project estimating and scheduling tools.
• Maintain a living E&C Risk Register across active gas project work streams.
• Lead E&C involvement in commercial offtake negotiation, permitting, and interconnection processes.
• Drive project controls: schedule development, cost benchmarking, and risk-informed decisions.
