Job summary

Energy Transfer in Texas is seeking a plant operator to manage compressors, motors, and related gas processing equipment across facilities and pipelines. The role focuses on safe, cost-efficient operations, adherence to procedures, and rapid response to alarms while supporting regulatory and environmental standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to thrive in a 24/7 shift environment.

Qualifications

Must maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residency.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group environment.
Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, shift rotations, and perform call outs.
Must be able to react to high stress/emergency situations in a deliberate, thoughtful, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and systems at plant facilities safely and efficiently.
Seek to optimize processing through facility by maintaining proper product specifications.
Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and take corrective actions.
Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to achieve desired results.
Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Oversee third-party construction or maintenance activities when required.
May perform lab tests for quality assurance and assist other technical staff.
