Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking a Plant Operator to install, operate, and maintain natural gas liquid processing facilities with high complexity. You will manage compressors, engines, pumps and associated equipment, monitor process variables, and coordinate with control centers and shippers.

This role requires safety focus and adherence to company standards. Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma (or equivalent), 2+ years experience or a substitution, and willingness to obtain Operator Qualifications

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years direct work experience may substitute for a degree/certification.
• Knowledge of compressor or pump station, gathering field and processing plant operations.
• Willingness to achieve and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQ) and progression requirements applicable to the job classification.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Operate compressors, engines, auxiliary units, turbines, motors, pumps, seals, valves and related equipment.
• Monitor process variables (pressure, temperature, flow) to meet operating targets.
• Start/stop engines/pumps and other equipment to maintain parameters.
• Plan and perform maintenance and repairs on compressors, engines, turbines, pumps, and related equipment.
• Ensure cost-effective performance of all gas and liquid processing units and equipment.
• Monitor product quality and take action if out of specification.
• Coordinate with control centers, business groups, and other operating groups.
• Communicate with shippers concerning product movement.
• Maintain safety and compliance with company standards and regulations.
