Job summary

Blattner Energy in Avon, MN is seeking an experienced estimator to lead the bidding process for gas-powered generation projects. You will review plans, specs, and vendor proposals to build accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.

You will also plan sequencing, issue RFPs, and evaluate competing bids to select the most cost-effective solution. The role requires a four-year degree in construction or engineering and experience in energy or heavy civil estimating, with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of gas-powered generation estimating or 4+ years in general construction estimating.
• Travel up to 25% of time.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, drawings, specs and vendor proposals to develop accurate estimates.
• Prepare a level-one project schedule and determine crew size and productivity.
• Issue RFPs to qualified vendors/subcontractors and evaluate bids.
• Calculate quantities, material costs, labor, equipment, and create cost summaries.
