Job summary

USIC is seeking individuals to join the Advanced Gas Operations team for field locates and safety-focused work. You will determine gas line locations, mark areas for excavation, and adapt to a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on quality and public safety.

No prior locating experience is required, though previous exposure is a plus; full training is provided and advancement opportunities exist within a growing nationwide company.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Proficiency with technology; read, understand locate tickets, maps and prints; basic math.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure.
• Some hand digging to unearth gas lines may be required.
• May locate other utilities in addition to gas lines, depending on the project.
