Job summary

USIC, America’s leader in underground utility damage prevention, is seeking field locators in Ohio. You’ll work outdoors in the field, independently, using company vehicles and locating equipment to mark gas lines and other utilities, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Training is provided; prior locating experience is not required. The role offers long-term career growth, overtime, and weekend work with comprehensive benefits. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some overnight travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen; safety-sensitive position.
• Proficiency with technology and reading tickets, maps, and prints.
• Clear communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure.
• Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines.
• As a technician in our AGO division, you may locate other utilities in addition to gas lines, depending on the project.
