Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN seeks a Gas Engine Product Service Consultant to provide global product support for Large Power Systems Division gas engines, monitor field performance, and drive CPI initiatives with Caterpillar dealers to ensure reliability, durability, and serviceability.

A four-year engineering degree is required; strong data gathering, analysis, and communication skills are essential, with experience in warranty investigations, field issues, and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product health and quality performance for LPSD gas engines in the field
• Investigate warranty claims and anticipate field issues to drive improvements
• Lead CPI projects and produce field publications and support plans
• Provide accurate cost and financial forecasts for CPI initiatives
• Collaborate with dealers and industry reps to resolve complex technical issues
• Use AFA to analyze critical failures and adapt reports for external use
• Support major problems, advise on ICA repair options, and guide maintenance strategies
• Engage with engineering, quality, and industry teams to resolve customer problems
