Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN, is seeking a mechanical engineer to lead design, development, and validation of G3500 engines, collaborating with marketing, performance, and aftermarket teams to deliver NTI, NPI, and CPI initiatives.

You will drive design reviews, manage BOMs, support testing in cells and on site, and coordinate with suppliers and field personnel to ensure robust engine solutions for Oil & Gas applications. Travel up to 15–90% depending on project phase is possible.

• Lead design, development, and validation related to G3500 engines through NTI, NPI, and CPI processes.
• Host design architecture team meetings and coordinate with marketing on program requirements.
• Work with validation and engineers to ensure FMEAs and tests validate engine designs.
• Support engine performance development and validation in test cells and field locations.
• Create and present material for reviews and manage BOMs and CAD models.
