Job summary

SEMCO, a leading natural gas operator, is seeking a Gas Controller to monitor and manage gas flow across the pipeline system, ensuring safe and reliable service. In this role you will balance supply and storage, respond to alarms, and coordinate field responses to maintain system integrity.

You will work a rotating 12-hour swing-shift schedule, with overtime and holidays. Strong analytical and communication skills required, plus OQ readiness and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, vocational training, or equivalent coursework in a technical field preferred.
• Two to four years of experience in the natural gas industry preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQ) in Gas Control, Control Room Management, and Fatigue Mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control, and maintain gas control systems per CRM requirements and the O&M Manual.
• Respond to alarms, alerts, and abnormal operating conditions following established procedures.
• Communicate system issues to appropriate personnel and coordinate field response activities.
• Balance daily gas supply contracts and on-system storage by adjusting gate station and storage facility flow rates.
• Work a rotating 12-hour swing-shift schedule with overtime and holiday coverage.
