Job summary

GameStop is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States to assist the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. You will develop and promote a sales culture, supervise Sales Associates, and ensure an engaging, well-organized shopping environment for guests.

The role focuses on delivering best-in-class guest service, managing visual merchandising, and driving sales while maintaining store standards and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service and greet guests; assist with gaming needs and promotions.
• Support the shopping environment, visual/operational elements, and guest relationships.
• Process guest purchases/returns using POS accurately and courteously.
• Respond to guest questions in person or by phone and escalate when needed.
• Promote GameStop guest benefits and loyalty programs.
• Assist Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training staff.
• Observe performance and provide feedback; document in HR system.
• Ensure onboarding/training is completed before opening/closing shifts.
• Schedule staff to meet coverage and guest service goals.
• Approve payroll and manage time off requests.
• Maintain store cleanliness and proper merchandising; manage inventory and safety.
