OpenTrain AI, Inc. is seeking a Game Development AI Evaluation Specialist to design small-scale game tasks and realistic bugs for AI evaluation. You will build interactive scenes, craft briefs, and define success criteria to guide automated testing.
You'll work with major engines (Unity, Godot, Unreal), create reference solutions, and perform end-to-end playtests to ensure tasks are reliable and solvable, strengthening freelance opportunities on the platform.
OpenTrain is the centralized, open platform where AI training and data-labeling freelancers find work, consolidate opportunities across platforms, and build a unified AI training portfolio they control. We make specialized AI training work easier to track, apply for, and grow into a durable freelance career.
OpenTrain is recruiting for a Game Development AI Evaluation Specialist to create realistic game-development challenges that help train and evaluate AI systems. You will build small-scale projects and interactive scenes, introduce gameplay bugs and feature requirements, and define the conditions an AI agent must meet to analyze, play, debug, and develop games. This role combines hands-on game creation with structured evaluation work, requiring practical judgment about gameplay behavior, visual outcomes, and reliable in-game states.
You will design small-scale game projects or interactive scenes in a major game engine for assessment tasks. You will integrate realistic gameplay bugs that can be discovered and resolved through playtesting and on-screen analysis, develop feature challenges involving multiple gameplay systems and mechanics, and write concise briefs in the style of player, designer, or producer instructions. You will also create reference solutions covering bug fixes and feature implementations, define success criteria using input sequences, expected visual outcomes, and verifiable game states, and conduct end-to-end playtesting to confirm that each task is reliable and solvable.
You should have demonstrated game development experience in AAA, indie, solo, or serious hobby projects, along with a publicly viewable portfolio, published project, game jam entry, or shipped title. Advanced proficiency with Unity, Godot, or Unreal is expected, including editor tools, scene management, and debugging utilities. You should be able to use C#, GDScript, C++, or Blueprints to interpret, troubleshoot, and improve gameplay logic, identify and resolve gameplay issues through iterative playtesting, and write precise task instructions and acceptance criteria.
Experience in game QA, technical design, systems design, automated testing, or AI evaluation can strengthen your fit for this work. Developers from studio, independent, and hobby backgrounds are welcome when they can demonstrate relevant projects and practical engine skills.
OpenTrain gives freelancers one place to manage AI training opportunities instead of rebuilding proof of work on every platform. A stronger OpenTrain profile helps you show credible experience, discover roles that match your skills, and turn AI training and data-labeling work into a long-term portfolio.
