Job summary

North Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated Project Officer to lead gambling prevention work within the Substance Use Team. The role focuses on delivering projects, developing a needs assessment, reviewing policies, and strengthening partnerships to improve early identification and support for affected communities.

You will work in a hybrid environment, balancing office and field-based tasks, with a focus on collaboration, reporting, and engagement across departments.

Responsibilities

• Support development of a needs assessment
• Review NSC policies and identify opportunities where the Gambling Harms programme can be embedded across other departments
• Prepare reports and briefings
• Monitor budget expenditure, progress against project plan and provider regular updates to the commissioning manager
• Support partnership working through development of and support to North Somerset's Gambling Harms Prevention Steering Group
