Job summary

Valmont Industries is hiring for a General Shop Help in Midland, PA. You will prepare products and materials for galvanizing, hang parts on spreader bars, stage tubular products, and ready small parts for processing.

Responsibilities include inspecting fixtures, moving steel pieces, and assisting with cleanup. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• The ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• The ability to communicate problems or needs to departmental supervision.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds from ground to shoulder height or higher.
• Must be a physically able to stand for long periods of time in open air environment; wear PPE; maintain safe work environment.
• Must have a high safety awareness at all times.
• Must be passionate and have integrity with drive to excel and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and ensure the safe use of production fixtures, chains and hooks.
• Hand wire small to medium parts to racks for pickling or galvanizing.
• Pull and place chains and ropes around steel for racking.
• Move lightweight pieces of steel around the plant and yard.
• Operate tools to prep or clean steel for pickling or galvanizing.
• Assist in general plant cleanup and housekeeping.
• Work safely to protect self and others from injury.
