Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Idaho is seeking a Material Handler to prepare products for galvanizing, hang parts on spreader bars, and stage tubulars. You will inspect fixtures and rigging, wire small to medium parts, and move steel using safe handling practices in a busy plant.

The role requires strong safety awareness, ability to read gauges and a tape measure, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Shift work includes first, second and third shifts with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic and read a tape measure.
• Working knowledge of production hand tools and gauges.
• High safety awareness and attention to detail at all times.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrates integrity, passion and drive to excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare products and materials for galvanizing by hanging and staging.
• Inspect fixtures, chains and hooks and report unsafe items.
• Hand wire parts to racks, move steel pieces, and assist in pickling/galvanizing prep.
• Assist in plant cleanup and operate under PPE and safety rules.
