Job summary

Yellow Studio in Cross River, NY is seeking a Gallery & Community Associate for an entry-level, hands-on role supporting weekly communications, exhibitions, and member programs.

You’ll work with the director and marketing lead, ensuring accuracy of dates, links, labels, and graphics, while helping maintain the studio’s events calendar and community outreach. Weekend availability is required and you’ll help with light maintenance and setup.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidate; no specific years of experience required.
• Exceptional attention to detail with proofing and formatting.
• Interest in the arts through coursework, practice, or volunteering.
• Clear written communication to members and the public.
• Ability to learn new apps and platforms (e.g., Flodesk, Canva, Asana).
• Weekend availability required.
• Willingness to perform light physical tasks and space upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Build and send weekly and monthly emails and social posts.
• Collect and edit member news and maintain spotlight lists.
• Submit event listings to calendars and chamber of commerce.
• Maintain artwork records, labels, price lists and installation photos.
• Design templates in Canva and prepare exhibition graphics and vinyl titles.
• Open/close gallery daily and assist with upkeep.
• Build UTM links, track community events, and assist with new member intake.
