Job Description: Graduate Assistant in the Office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs The Graduate Assistant position will assist the Enrollment Data Manager in the office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs with ad-hoc data reporting and analyses requests. Responsible for extracting meaningful insights from disparate data sources that would support the division in determining and implementing strategies aimed at increasing and improving student access & success. Utilize data to create statistical models and actionable dashboards that depicts trends in the student information database as a whole. Identify and recommend ways to improve and streamline business processes. Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Database experience in Oracle.
  • Must be proficient in SQL.
  • Must have experience in writing programs and using any Advanced Analytics and BI tools.
  • Knowledge of Data Visualization techniques.
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Detail orientated and highly organized.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Enrolled in a graduate degree at East Texas A&M
  • Ability to prioritize duties and adapt to changes.
  • Work well with others, including students and staff.
  • Ability to be self-managed, stay on task, and research solutions independently.

To qualify, students must: Be fully admitted to a graduate program (not provisional or non-degree) Be in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA Be enrolled in courses each term of the assistantship Meet specific credit hour and subject requirements for teaching or lab roles Non-native English speakers must demonstrate language proficiency Research assistants must complete Responsible Conduct in Research training Work up to 20 hours per week, depending on the appointment May have teaching or research assignments, or provide administrative support.
