Job Description: This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Career Services Division that reports to the Director of Career Services. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.
Salary: $13.50 per hour
Schedule: Days and Hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week.
(Job Code T9502) Currently enrolled Gwinnett Technical College student who is in good academic standing and eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester. Candidates must be available approximately 19 hours per week.
In addition to the minimum qualifications, customer service oriented and public relations with excellent creative writing skills. Additional knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be successful include ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; organizational skills; demonstrated customer service skills; oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; detail oriented with ability to stay on task and meet deadlines; general record keeping practices; team player concepts; office management skills; familiarity with Web searches; ability to quickly learn on-line resources.
Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to the Human Resources Department. Job duties include but are not limited to operating office equipment, front office receptionist, filing and general office/clerical work. direction of assigned supervisor, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
