Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, and merchandising. This role focuses on developing as a future store leader while contributing to store performance and customer service excellence.

The candidate will assist with recruitment, inventory controls, pricing, and cash handling, staying compliant with policies and promoting a safe, well-organized shopping environment. Some travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Performing mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing.
• Oversee inventory management and stock control including damages and markdowns.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company policies and handbook guidance.
• Participate in opening and closing store activities.
• Ensure safe deposits of company funds.
• Maintain cash control and security procedures.
• Keep stores clean and well-stocked with safe environment.
