Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, and merchandising, while providing strong customer service leadership. This role prepares external candidates for a future store manager position on a limited-term basis.

Responsibilities include assisting in recruiting, stocking, inventory control, and closing/opening duties, with emphasis on cash controls and adherence to company policies. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
